  1. Professor Perry was my College Algebra teacher. I can truly say that she taught her class with enthusiasm. She was very determined to see her students succeed and by doing so she gave us all the tools necessary. Professor Perry used PowerPoint to teach, which made lectures more interesting and easier to understand. She also had a tablet P.C. which she used to explain the PowerPoint and to work out step -by-step problems. I found that by using Mymathlab, an online tool to submit homework and read the textbook , really made algebra very clear to understand.
Even though I am now in Calculus, Professor Perry has constantly been there for me. During my Pre-Calculus and Calculus semesters I went back to Professor Perry so she could help me remember the tricks she had taught us in algebra. She was always very understanding and willing to help out. With experience I have learned that algebra is the base for all math, and I believe Professor Perry gave us the right tools so we could succeed in our higher math courses.
I recommend Professor Perry for any endeavor she decides to pursue. She has been a great professor who teaches passionately and is always there for her students.

  2. I had Professor Perry for my college algebra 1 class. She was an excellent teacher; I enjoyed her different methods and tricks that made algebra seem easy to understand and sometimes even fun! She always provided explanatory power points and was always willing to help her students. Homework via Mymathlab also provided her students ways to learn different math equations and formulas and apply them in class. I continue to this day to use some of the math tricks Professor Perry has taught me and appreciate having had her as my math professor. I always enjoyed math as a subject, but Professor Perry made me love it even more! I highly recommend Professor Perry for any math position to which she applies; she would be an asset to any employer.

  3. I had Professor Perry for both of my college algebra classes at the University of Tampa. She taught the material in such a way that it clicked, and clicked in a way that my high school algebra instructors failed to make it click. I loved Professor Perry because of her personality, willingness to help all the students, provided that the students will actually try to figure out the problem on their own. She is clever and explains all of the material in a way that a high school student could understand. I know this, because I WAS a high school student when I took her class. I believe that Professor Perry is the perfect candidate for any mathematical teaching position she applies for. -- Jennifer Paine

  4. Professor Perry taught my college algebra I class, which I had to take for nursing. I am very science oriented, but math was ALWAYS a struggle for me growing up. The methods she used to teach math were so easy for me, for the first time in my life. And as long as I did all the homework assignments everything made sense. I am really fortunate to have her as a teacher because if I had a different professor and did not succeed in the course, I may not have made it into the nursing program. If she could help me understand math, she could really help anyone. I hope everyone can learn from her experience to make math an enjoyable learning tool. Professor Perry wanted every student in my class to understand it, and that to me meant more then just a job. She really genuinely cares.

  5. Professor Perry taught me most of my lower core algebra classes that I needed to take before any pre-calc and calc classes. She laid all the right foundations that I needed to succeed in my upper math courses which I did. I had never heard about teaching math with PowerPoint presentations, so my first day I didn’t feel like that class would go well for me. Quite the opposite happened, she made me feel at ease, and the PowerPoint presentations were so organized that it made everything clear. Not only that, but she had so many examples that you would get sick of doing all of them but at the end of the day you knew how to do everything without even thinking about it. I am able to say that I’ve succeeded in my upper level classes because of the foundation she laid out for me. An added bonus was that she was easy to talk to, so her class was very pleasant to be in. I took pre algebra and algebra with her and it flew by like a breeze! She would be a great teacher because she loves helping students, and she likes what she does.

  6. Professor Perry effectively utilized technologies to explain and make problems as clear as possible as well as demonstrating algebraic processes. Her passion and enthusiasm proved that she was actually there for the student. Also, that seeing us learn and helping us improve was what she prides herself on and is a number one priority. Her knowledge of the subject matter was consistently validated as students would ask for different explanations for the same problem. She made herself available for us as much as possible and was never too busy to go over that problem "just one more time" as I would always say. I had her for MAT 150 (Introductory Algebra) and she was so successful in explaining a subject matter that i had struggled with for so long, that I made sure I had her for MAT 160 (College Algebra).

  8. Professor Perry was my teacher for Intro to Algebra. I had never taken Algebra before, not even in my high school curriculum. So I was far behind the other students. I spoke to Professor Perry about my concerns within the first week of classes and I could tell she genuinely cared. I was comforted by her willingness to help me succeed. Some classes I would come by her office and ask for extra help which she always did and helped me obtain a tutor for even more extra help. I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Perry’s class as it was always interactive. Every class has a PowerPoint that had practice problems and explanations to some of the problems. The homework, which was on MyMathLab, is also interactive and I really liked how Professor Perry chose this site for homework problems because I could do hundreds of practice problems to gain even more knowledge of the material. After Professor Perry's class, I took College Algebra with a different professor and everything that Professor Perry taught me stayed with me and I succeeded, which shows that her teaching methods worked and I actually did learn.

I will certainly miss Professor Perry and I wish her all the best for her future endeavors.

  9. Professor Perry was my instructor for Elementary Algebra. I ended up in her class after moving down from College Algebra after realizing that I was ill prepared for that class. After being out of the "math" circuit for almost 10 years while building my Government IT Career, Professor Perry could tell that I needed some work on the fundamentals. In addition to offering before/after class assistance and keeping us aware of the University offered tutoring services, she also spent ample time in class working on concepts that everyone could understand. She had many tips and tricks that made complex formulas and methods seem easy. I am now ready for the College Algebra class and beyond, thanks to Professor Perry's efforts.

  10. Professor Perry taught me in Elementary Algebra and College Algebra. When I was in High School, I wasn't bad at math, but i wasn't the best either. After completing both classes, it seems as if my math skills have increased over night. I think Professor Perry's greatest asset is her ability to make difficult concepts seem simple. Before she got to the more complicated concepts, she made sure the fundamentals were concrete in our minds. She is very intelligent, always prepared for class and always willing to help myself and other students. Professor Perry's Power Point slides were also a huge help. Instead of trying to write down all of the notes, they were right there in front of us to follow along. The power point slides also included practice problems to help us understand exactly what we were doing. I really wish I had Professor Perry in High School. I would have done a lot better in Math. I will miss Professor Perry greatly, she has a great heart, diligent and only wants the best for her students.

  11. During my first year of college I was very overwhelmed by the experience, and nervous considering this was a big change for me. I was trying to delay my College Algebra class as much as I could so I decided to take Elementary Algebra, even though I knew it would not be credited as a Math Course. To my surprise I belonged in that class since Professor Perry gave us an evaluation exam the first day...and I thought I knew math. I enjoyed her course very much because her simplicity and different tricks she had. She has the best Factoring method by far, and her shortcuts are amazing. With this said I knew I had to take her for my College Algebra class. I thought I was ready for this course considering I had taken the Elementary Algebra. I was sooo wrong...College Algebra was very difficult and I realized I had to put into practice all that I had done from my Elementary Algebra class Every single day. If I had not taken that class I would have been extremely lost. Although this class seemed a lot more challenging than the other one, for some reason I ended up getting better grades. I met with Professor Perry a couple of times, and would do Math problems from My Math Lab constantly to get a good grade on the exams. Many people complained about My Math Lab, but I thought it worked well because I could practice Algebra with different problems, if I did not know how to do a problem it could be explained to me and it definetely help me to remember the steps Professor Perry had taught me from the class. I can say I like learning math better from the Power Points because it literally leads you through every step with the answers.

I have to admit this is my first semester without math and I feel like I will miss it. But I had a great time with Professor Perry and I thank her so much for helping me learn math in a new way. I recommend her to any student, because there is no excuse to fail her class..its hard but with her help and all the sources that she provides you can Ace her math class. Professor Perry expects the best from every student so it is very good to talk to her for math advices and questions one can have. She is very patient and very hard working so she expects the same from her students. I know she will be a great professor anywher she goes :)

  12. Professor Perry has the ability to make anything seem simple. She has the best and easiest math methods by far. She is very passionate and committed to her students doing well in her class and finds the best ways to try to make us understand difficult topics in algebra. Especially how she uses power point in math and her very funny animations, this made the class fun and less boring since it is a math class. It made me look at math in a different light and that math could be fun and easy if I learn different approaches to one problem. The best thing about her class was that she was always willing to help in solving or pointing out where I went wrong in doing a problem. She is definitely a hard working professor that is committed to her students.

  13. The best reference for anyone in the teaching profession should be that which is extracted from a student who has participated in the classroom of the teacher under scrutiny. I am taking the time to render a discourse of high-level analysis of just such a teacher.
Professor Wendy Perry is a teacher whose strength resides in her desire for every student's success with whom she engages. There are very few good mathematics teachers. Professor Perry is one of them. She was always prepared for class and utilized power point presentations, which each student could take with them following each class to be revisited time and again to glean the knowledge they imparted.
Having returned to college after a long period of time wherein I was raising a family and working in corporate America, I enrolled in the Pre-Algebra class at the University of Tampa. Considering that I hadn't been inside of a mathematics classroom for more than 20 years, I knew this was going to be a challenge of the highest magnitude. It was the inspiration and encouragement imparted to me by this teacher that motivated me to achieve. She spent the extra time with me after class to explain concepts to me that were difficult for me to grasp during the regular classroom session. Professor Perry encouraged me to seek additional help through the campus-tutoring program. With her help and guidance, I was able to achieve an A for the course. In addition, I went on to take an Algebra class with the Chair of the Mathematics Department as the instructor the following semester and achieved another A for this coursework. So, I can attest that her class had prepared me for the next level of mathematics.
I have maintained contact with Professor Perry as many of her students do. She is personable and a tremendous provider of guidance to all of her students as they move forward in their chosen endeavors.
